What is hawawshi?
Egypt's most popular street sandwich (حواوشي): spiced ground beef baked in baladi bread until crispy outside and juicy inside. WOWSHI makes it with 100% Halal beef and freezes it fresh for you to cook at home.
Is WOWSHI halal?
Yes. 100% Halal certified beef. No pork, lard or alcohol.
Do I need to thaw it?
No. Everything cooks straight from frozen. Cook until the center reaches 165°F.
How do I cook hawawshi?
Light spray of oil on each side. Pan or grill, medium heat, about 7 minutes per side until golden and 165°F inside.
Is it raw?
Hawawshi, mombar and soguk are raw: cook fully. Makaroni Béchamel is semi-cooked: finish it in the oven.
Where do you deliver?
DFW local delivery, free pickup in Frisco (16066 State Hwy 121), and UPS shipping to TX, OK, LA, AR & NM. See Delivery Area.
How much is delivery?
DFW: $9 flat, FREE on $60+ (after discounts). UPS: calculated at checkout.
Which days do you deliver?
Monday to Wednesday, so everything stays frozen. Thursday–Sunday orders go out Monday.
How should I store it?
Keep frozen at 0°F or below. Don't refreeze anything that has thawed.
What about allergens?
Every product page lists allergens. Hawawshi contains wheat. Makaroni Béchamel contains wheat and milk. Our kitchen also handles sesame, eggs, soy and tree nuts.
My order arrived thawed or damaged. Now what?
